Annually we support and host a Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway. This drive is to make sure families in need in San Diego County have a meal for Thanksgiving. We accepted requests from families in need throughout the county. Over the last 10 years this event has grown from our first year delivering 5 dinners to last year providing to over 150 families.
Over the years we have fed thousands of families for this effort. This year we are aiming to increase those efforts. In this effort we partner with the 61st and Division Streets Church of Christ, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., San Diego Alumnae Chapter (SDAC), The Grandparent Connection (GPC), National Alumnae Association of Spelman College-San Diego/Inland Empire, the Greater San Diego Morehouse Alumni Association and Restore, Uplift and Hope San Diego.
We are looking to support over 300 families this year. ($5,000)
The proceeds that are provided go 100% into the program, providing turkeys and other food items needed for a complete, healthy Thanksgiving meal.
